The dynasty of Renon exists on a peninsula south of Celvent on Anatolia. It originally was a country made up of mostly Taranuhl, but during the Age of Veralith, the entire land became shadow corrupted and most of the Taranuhls fled to Celvent. When Verelith was defeated, the hero, Kaiya, led the Taranuhls back along with the many shadow corrupted people who now scattered the land. The country reformed itself as a haven for any permanently affected by Verelith’s dark powers.

During the Great World War, Renon kept a neutral stand until it’s ally, Celvent, was attacked. When the war ended and Fallow came to an alliance with Celvent, Renon hesitantly allied as well.

With the divine instability brought about by the Great World War, some say that this shadowy country might seek to do away with both gods and primordials so that mortals will be free to do as they please.

History

Lucan’s Rule

In the same time as the Tiran Monarch ruled the kingdom of Celvent, Renon was under the leadership of the Shiroi house. Lord of the Shiroi house at this time was Lucan Shiroi, who is suspected to be the founder of the country, and the first Taranuhl to gain control over his bloodlust. Lucan ruled over Renon with a fair, but strict hand. He set out many of the laws and traditions that the country follows today.

Lucan considered contact with other countries to be dangerous and under his rule, Renon did not make contact with any other countries period. For this others viewed Renon as a dangerous land of barbaric hunters. It was not till Lucan’s daughter, Kaiya, that a Renonese Taranuhl made contact with the outside world.

This ultimately caused the first downfall of the country, as it was Kaiya’s affair with the Celventian prince, Darkaloth, that caused his brother Loroloth to attack the capital city of Renon. The entire city was ransacked and massacred; those who survived fled into the countryside and for years the country was in a state of leaderless anarchy.

Kaiya’s Rule

It wasn’t till the creation of the Pelorian Goverment of Celvent, that the hero, Kaiya Shiroi, returned to her leaderless, struggling country and brought it out of a dark age. With the aid of the new Celventian government, and the leadership of a stronger, fully grown Shiroi, a new capital city was built on the opposite end of the peninsula, and the ruins of the old capital left as a reminder to never trust foreigners. The new capital city of Renon prospered, and the county quickly expanded in wealth and power.

All seemed to be going well until the age of Verelith. The shadow taint that marred the earth in its darkness was attracted to places of great acts of evil and death. The old ruins of Renon was one of the greatest. The ruins became like a city of shades that stormed upon the villages, towns, and eventually the capital city itself. Kaiya did her best to defend her country, but the shades were just too numerous. She ordered an evacuation of the entire country to the refuge capital city of Celvent.

There the Renonese kept their aloof, jaded culture in their own refugee district of Celvent. It wasn’t until after Kaiya, along with the other old heroes, defeated Verelith, that it was safe to return home. Surprisingly though, the Taranuhls were not the only ones returning to populate Renon. Kaiya sent out a call to all the Shadow Corrupted (those tainted by Verelith’s shadow taint) all around the world to find a new home in Renon, since most Shadow Corrupted had been shunned by their original homes. So Kaiya led both the Shadow Corrupted and the Taranuhls back to Renon, where they retook their city and pushed back the shades; but the even with the shades gone, the old ruins remained dangerous and the land was forever marked by the taint. The once green grasslands of Renon were turned blackish-purple; It’s forests turned black and blue. The landscape now seems to match the population and culture of Renon though, and it quickly recovered to it’s former wealth and power under the rule of Kaiya. The children of the heros Shinkuu and Kaiya became later capable rulers of the Shiroi house and so have sine the recovery from Verelith

The Great War

1,000 years later, Lord Ronin Shiroi rules during the time of the Great World War. Renon was one of the few countries to keep an almost completely neutral stand in the war almost till the very end. But when Celvent was openly attacked by Fallow, Ronin sent an elite force of Renonese forces to aid Celvent; some say that is why Celvent managed to hold off Fallow. When Fallow and Celvent allied with one another in the Great Instability that followed after the war, Renon hesitantly agreed with the alliance. Though Renon has seemed to recluse into it’s own goals or problems. Some rumor that Lord Ronin seeks to find a way to do away with both gods and primordials, so that mortal may do as they please. But there is a obstacle to this path, since the shadow corrupted in Renon are usually followers of the Raven Queen, or worse, followers of Vecna or Orcus. Lately, religious conflict between the two religious factions has broken out into near warfare, and the Shiroi house struggles to keep peace between the two.
